Over the past 6-7 decades, the rapid development of modern computerized devices and the world wide web has forced the birth of the digitalization of education. Technology has so disrupted the face-to-face, traditional brick-and-mortar education methodology bursting forth the emergence of learning and teaching methodologies that are not bound by distance nor time. Today’s classroom experiences are far removed from what it used to be where learning and teaching robustly occurs through device screens. Virtual lectures, student interactions and discussions, digital libraries with enormous numbers of resources, online assessments have now become commonplace.
Being a debatable topic of conversations in higher education, quality assurance along the lines of digital education has always sparked interesting perspectives from all sides. There are so many aspects to consider ranging from policies and regulations regarding digital course and programme development based on standards, methodology of delivery, digital assessments, evaluation of e-resources and accreditation of developed programmes and the like.
Bahrain Polytechnic, in cooperation with Quality Matters (QM), USA, is proud to invite everyone to a forum where the significance of “Ensuring Quality in Digital Education” will be the main theme of discussion with a strong focus on Middle Eastern institutions, as well as learn from best practices from the United States.
